Athens International Film Festival Opens With 12 Days of Global Cinema
The 32nd Athens International Film Festival opens on September 30, launching 12 days of international cinema, premieres, restored classics and filmmaker events.
The festival's programme includes films such as Club Kid, Wild Horse Nine, Primetime and The Man I Love, alongside a major retrospective dedicated to South Korean filmmaker Lee Chang-dong.
Director Yorgos Lanthimos is also participating as a guest curator.
The festival is using several historic cinemas and cultural venues across Athens.
Its programme demonstrates how film festivals can operate as cultural events rather than simply movie screenings.
